ACTIVATION AND PLACEMENT VOUCHER (AVGS)
The Act to Improve Integration Opportunities for the Unemployed regulates the introduction of the AVGS from 1 April 2012 in place of the placement voucher.
Anyone who is registered as a jobseeker with their responsible benefit provider can apply for an AVGS. In addition to recipients of Unemployment Benefit I (here after 6 weeks legal entitlement) and Unemployment Benefit II, this also includes:
- Non-benefit recipients registered as jobseekers
- Self-employed or returning to work
- Students and trainees looking for a job
- Soldiers at the end of their military service
- Employees in transfer and rescue companies
The AVGS can be limited in terms of region and time, but is generally valid for up to 6 months as long as no circumstances occur that cause the basis for entitlement to be cancelled (e.g. taking up employment, change from unemployment benefit I to unemployment benefit II or termination of job search).
